The Imperial Community College District established the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to evaluate human subject research proposals and to ensure the rights and welfare of students are protected by minimizing risks and ensuring informed and voluntary participation. The IRB is responsible for overseeing the procedures and for established at the college to ensure that each project that is evaluated follows ethical standards regarding issues such as informed consent, confidentiality, and risk to participants.
